Acts High School
GRADE 7- GRADE 12:
The High School of Acts House of Education consists of the Senior Phase (Grade 7 to Grade 9 ) and Further Education an Training or FET (Grade 10 - Grade 12)
Acts High follows the CAPS curriculum and learners graduate with a National Senior Certificate (NSC) at the end of Grade 12. Acts High boasts a fully equipped science and technology lab used for Natural, Physical and Life Sciences. Commerce subjects are most popular at the school and our experienced team of teachers ensure that our teenagers meet their developmental potential and academic goals. Intervention classes are available for English HL, Afrikaans FAL and Mathematics.
Learners in FET are required to do at least seven subjects to obtain their NSC. Our subject combinations and subject booklet for 2021 can be located HERE.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
Acts High offers athletics, soccer, cricket, touch-rugby for boys and girls, netball & chess. The High School DSSL dance team also excels on provincial and national level, and our public speaking and debate team confidently controls a room filled with listeners. Musical Theatre, by Limitless Art, and Instrumental Music, by Creare, is available at an additional cost.
In addition to termly outings and school outreaches, High School learners from Grade 8-11 attend an annual school camp as part of the Life Orientation curriculum. Further leadership, team-building and communication exercises are promoted through STEM Expos, Encounter: Lead like Jesus, and the election of a Grade 12 Student Council. Pastoral mentoring and professional counseling is available to our learners to assist them with navigating their way through their teenage years.
Acts House of Education is a National Examination Center and proudly accredited with UMALUSI to deliver the NSC.
