Acts House of Education 2023 Primary School Learner Achievements

This academic year, Acts House of Education Primary School in Glen Austin has seen remarkable success both in academics and across various sports and cultural activities, fostering an environment where each learner can truly thrive.

Notable achievements include the full academic colours earned by Munashe Pangeti in Grade 7 and Gianna Govender in Grade 6. Luke McAlister, a Grade 6 student, received recognition as the top Mathematics learner, and Gianna Govender also secured the top position in science.

The sports and culture department witnessed outstanding achievements, acknowledging the dedication and passion exhibited by both teachers and learners. The dance department celebrated four learners who received awards for excellence. Additionally, Noah Ramlall (Grade 1) and Caleb Cass (Grade 5) achieved third place at the DSSL Interschool’s Champions League, while Onnalena Mathiba (Grade 6) and Munashe Pangeti (Grade 7) represented Gauteng at the National tournament, earning full colours for their provincial representation. The u13 Netball team remained undefeated for the second consecutive year in their league, and the school's entry into the Gauteng Touch Rugby League saw the u13 boys placing 1st and the u13 girls placing 2nd.

The Athletics department also experienced success, securing an overall 2nd place at the Interschool Athletics Meeting. Athletes of the year in the Foundation Phase were Liam Chipanga and Thelia Heynes. Grade 7 learners Olayinka Tshipani and Angela Kodila received the all-round excellence awards for 2023, recognizing their achievements in both academics and sports.

Looking ahead to 2024, the newly elected Grade 7 leaders for the primary school are Aaron Singh, Gianna Govender, Luke Biddassee, Tanatswa Chipanga, Xanthi Dalasile, Ariella Ramsamy, Risuna Maluleke, and Luke McAlister.

Reflecting on the year, Mrs. Maurukira, the Primary School Principal, expressed gratitude for the school's achievements, emphasizing that the success is a testament to God's faithfulness. She credited the dedication and passion of the teachers, stating that Acts House of Education is blessed with the best. As the school embraces its mission to nurture lifelong learners for a global environment, Mrs. Maurukira expressed excitement about the upcoming year and the positive contributions the school and community will continue to make.
